Candice Fabry

Coach Fabry is in her second season as head coach of the OU women's soccer program.


In her first season at the helm, Fabry led the Braves to an overall record of 5-7-6, a KCAC mark of 5-3-4, and six Braves were named to the All-KCAC Teams. Off the field, the Braves had nine named KCAC Scholar Athletes and seven earn Daktronic Scholar Athlete honors. Carolina Jennerwein was named to the 2022 CSC Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team. Fabry was one of five individuals presented Letters of Commendation from the United Soccer Coaches at the 83rd annual Convention in Kansas City, Mo.

Fabry came to OU after serving as Associate Head Coach for the Kansas City Courage soccer team, a professional amateur women's soccer team in the United Women's Soccer League. The Courage have produced two players that are on the KC Current, Kansas City's professional women's soccer team that competes in the NWSL Women's League. Fabry was an essential piece to the Courage, she helped execute the entire on field experience of the team members and support staff. As Associate Head Coach, Fabry planned, coordinated and coached all training and match days, player management, periodization plans for teams and individuals and recruitment of staff and players to the program.


Fabry created the Fearless & Capable Mentorship program, which supports the retainment and promotion of women working in sports. She created the program from a passion to empower women to have a fearless mindset and build their capabilities to succeed. The Fearless & Capable Mentorship program enables women from across the country to mentor the next generation of coaches, referees and administrators.


Before becoming the Associate Head Coach of the KC Courage, Fabry was the Director of Member Services, ODP Coach and Coach ED Instructor of the Iowa Soccer Association. She was responsible for overseeing the services provided to the 90+ club affiliates that are members of the organization. Fabry executed the state's first ever Iowa Soccer Symposium to raise the profile of the organization and fulfill the responsibility of education to our membership.


Fabry was General Manager and Professional Coach of the Iowa Rush Soccer Club. For the Iowa Rush, she coached, recruited and retained players, in addition to assisting with marketing, communications, social media and ran numerous large-scale fundraising and promotional events for the club. Fabry was credited for providing marketing solutions that raised brand awareness and drew in additional 400 players over a three-year concentrated span in suburbs of Des Moines. Fabry increased sponsorship income for the Rush from approximately $7,000 to over $50,000 annually by 2016.


Fabry was a member of the Toledo women's soccer program and earned her Bachelor of Arts in History in 2007. Also, Fabry earned her Master of Science, Sport, Recreation and Tourism Management degree from the University of Illinois in 2013. She has a U.S Soccer Grassroots Instructor License, USSF National B License and US Youth Soccer Youth National License.


Coach Fabry resides in Kansas City with her husband, Paul, and two children, Berkley and Chelsea.

Emma Nilsson

Coach Nilsson is in her second season as a graduate assistant coach with the the OU women's soccer program.


She returns following two years as a midfielder at Ottawa, starting in 28 of her 29 career appearances. Nilsson played two years at Campellsville University prior to coming to OU, appearing in 27 matches.


Nilsson graduated magna cum laude from OU in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Leadership. On top of being a student-athlete, Nilsson was a student assistant with Associate Athletic Director Bruce Tate and Game Operations. Nilsson has also coached at multiple youth clubs and summer camps in Kansas and Oklahoma during her time at OU.
